SEPHORA & DUTY FREE HAUL

Whilst on my trip to Poland (I took a lot of pictures, blog post with them is up now!), I picked up a few things at Duty Free and also in Sephora. So here's what I bought..

First stop at the Gatwick Airport's Duty Free was Mac, and there I picked up the Pro Longwear 'Painterly' Paint Pot . I also then picked up a Pro Longwear Lip Liner in 'Etcetera'
for my 'Velvet Teddy' Lipstick. I talked about these products elaborately here.

This next product is an old favourite of mine, and I wasn't planning on buying until I saw it and realised that I actually really loved this product. So the repurchase is the loved Benefit's They're Real. I previously did try out the Roller Lash but I don't really like it as much as the They're Real.

I got really happy when I saw Sephora down the street in Cracow and I had to get some things!
First up was this fleshy tone Long Lasting Kohl Pencil in '07 Infinite Beige' since I've been on the look for one for a while now and I really like this one! The pencil is bigger than any other of my eyeliners which means extra product when you sharpen it! I use this on my waterline and it seems to stay put for long.

Then after minutes of looking for a makeup brush (which in the end, I bought none) I spotted a Beauty Blender (I didn't even realise that it was THE original beauty blender itself!) and I'm really glad I did pick it up because the quality is amazing. It blends your makeup in really well under the eyes especially due to the 'tapered' point at the top.

So since I picked up an eyeliner, I had to pick up a Pencil Sharpener that wont break my whole pencil after sharpening once. I have yet to try this sharpener but I'll report back shortly!

I always saw many Youtubers use these face masks, and let me say they're not the best but not the worst. The one I got was a Mattifying & anti-blemish Mask (Green Tea Mask). When you open the pack its already cut out and all you do it place It on your face and massage it in. It gets difficult if you have a smaller face since the edges will just go on your hair.

The last thing I got in Sephora was this Nail Polish in 'Icy Cocktail'. It's the perfect size for nail polish because, let's be real, we never finish a nail polish up before it dries up! The brush is really nice (similar to the Essie brushes, big and soft), which makes the nail polish glide on smoothly and with minimal stokes and coats.

What's the most recent thing you bought?

PRETTY IN PINK | LIPSTICKS

Products Mentioned:

(L to R): Clinique Chubby Stick in 'Super Strawberry', Mac Lustre in 'Lustering', Calvin Klein in 'Ethereal', Revlon ColorStay in 'Socialite'

This is more of a lip balm rather than a lipstick meaning that its more sheer but buildable. It has a pretty deeper pink sheen to it which screams your lips but better. Perfect to chuck in you bag and just swipe it on.

This is also a 'light lipstick' because it is a Lustre finish, which means you can build up the colour or leave it shiny and gentle. I love how this lipstick just glides on smoothly.

As opposed to the other ones, this is more of a Barbie pink and it's so pigmented and glides on smoothly as well. The Calvin Klein makeup range has been discontinued a while ago but these
lipstick's are still available online for a small price of about £2/£3. Bargain!

This lipstick is like more of a darker nude pink and like the others it's just nice to apply however it does tend to have a sticky lipstick feel.

What are your favourite 'pink' lipsticks?

MAC VELVET TEDDY | DRUGSTORE LIPTICK & LIPLINER DUPE

I came across a lipstick, then soon realised that it was Velvet Teddy which I picked up and instantly fell in love. Then I realised that I'm very mainstream...

A never ending hype over the Kylie Jenner Lip Look? I think so.

Products Mentioned:

Since people have been going on a mission to find out which lipstick Kylie Jenner uses, Velvet Teddy became one of the most best selling products in Mac, in my opinion. I think I've walked into at least four different Mac stores/counters just to find out it's still out of stock. So I ordered it online.

Velvet Teddy is essentially a lipstick that mimics the fleshy tone and Kate Moss 03 is more of a regular pink nude but still the 03 doesn't fail as one of the dupes for Velvet Teddy.

With no hesitation I can say that a Mac Lipstick is the best. It stays on for ages especially when you put a tiny bit of translucent powder on top for an even better matte effect. These lipsticks smell of vanilla and its basically the best thing ever.

Left: Mac 'Velvet Teddy' Lipstick
Right: Rimmel '03 Kate Moss' Lipstick

The Kate Moss lipstick is a good dupe for the MAC however its more pink toned and not matte. It also doesn't stay on all day, so you'll have to touch up. But over all its good for a third of the price of the Mac Lipstick.

This Rimmel lip liner is one of my favourite ones in the drugstore for many reasons. One of them being the price, they are very cheap and do the job. They aren't drying but after you put it on, you don't have that lipstick feel, which I think is good since if you wear it alone it won't transfer.

Considering I don't have high end lip liner for this lipstick yet, I do have a drugstore alternative which is basically the exact same colour if not slightly darker than the lipstick. It's not a bad thing as it makes it perfect for lip contouring if that's what you want. I said that it's good for lip contouring, but I don't mean intense contour, there's barely a difference in the colours at all! (I forgot the swatches for these oops)

Are there any other Velvet Teddy Lip Stick & Lip Liner dupes that you know of?

YOUR BRUSH GUIDE

Essential Brushes/Choosing Brushes

Having the right makeup wont get you anywhere if you don't have the right brushes/sponges to apply it. Application is key. Use this post as a guide for getting everything you need...

Blush:

- A soft medium round brush
- Natural Fiber
- Other uses: Applying Powder or Bronzer
Fan:
- Various Sizes
- Good for applying Highlighter
- Other uses: Brushing away loose eyeshadow
Foundation:
- Synthetic Brush
- Other uses: Applying Cream Blush
Eyebrow:
- Firm, Angled Brush
- Fill in with brow powder
- Other Uses: Eyeliner/Lip liner or Eyeshadow liner
Powder:
- Big, soft natural fiber brush.
- Other uses: Bronzer
 Eyeshadow:
- Round Tapered (can be also flat)
 - Other Uses: Blending Concealer
 Concealer:
- Narrow, Synthetic brush, Tapered edge
- Other Uses: Brow Bone Highlight or Inner Corner Highlight
 Brow Comb:
- Removes clumps of mascara
- A Spoolie works the same way
Contour:
 - Soft Brush (can have angled edge)
 - Other Uses: Bronzer, Blush, Powder
 Eye/Lip Liner:
  - Narrow
  - Other uses: Gel liner, Eyeshadow as liner

Firstly, by no means think that you have to buy a ton load of brushes at once because I know how overwhelming it can be looking at all the shapes, sizes and colours of these brushes. These brushes you buy will last you forever if you take good care of them - can be expensive.
Building your brushes one step at a time can take a while till you're satisfied with your collection.

Bare in mind that a lot of brushes can have another job in applying something for example a blush brush can also be good for powder, and even bronzer! Just think about what you're buying and how you can use it for other things too.
Cleaning Your Brushes

Product used:

(You should wash your brushes once a week!)

Different Ways of Cleaning Brushes:
- Using a Brush Cleaning Glove which offers different textures to clean your brush depending on the size and how firm it is. This offers more of an accurate wash. There are many gloves out there specialised for brushes, from many brands, just look for positive reviews.

- Using Shampoo or Mild Soap is a cheaper alternative since you already have shampoo in your house, so just put a pea sized amount (again depending on the size of the brush) and swirl the brush in your hand under the gently running tap.

- On the spot Cleaning. This is good if you don't have time to wash your brushes with water and soap, this will just vaguely clean the tip of it to make application smoother. Also perfect for eye brushes if you decide to use a different tone of colour. However don't always rely on this since it doesn't clean brushes thoroughly.

Just use one pump, depending on the size of the brush, on a cotton pad. Gently swirl your brush on the pad until the brush is clean.

3 Essential Eye Brushes

Brushes Mentioned:

What I use them for..

Detailer Brush - I love this brush for applying highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes or for your brow bone since its flat and small for precision. It can also be used for concealer.

Blending Brush - Well as the name says, blending. I use this brush for blending the shade 'Primal' from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics pallete in my crease, which really accentuates blue eyes.

Shading Brush - This brush is smaller than a blending brush. It's really good for blending in that highlighter in more or for a more precise eyeshadow look so it doesn't give such a smokey effect which a blending brush would give.

Brighton is so gorgeous. I used to come here when I was really small and I always loved it and coming back now I remember all the great times. I always need to go to the mini golf place! It's so fun!
Also I really like the pretty lanes with cute shops and cafes
